Hairy Tusk Shell [Striodentalium lobatum]

Description
This species is a marine scaphopod mollusk, commonly known as the hairy tusk shell. It lives in sandy substrate in deep sea. The shell shape is long and slender, resembling an elephant's tusk, hence the common name. It is distinguished by a series of fine longitudinal ridges on the shell, with a dense fringe of bristles (cirri) at the wider end.
