Trochus Shell [Trochus niloticus]

Description
Trochus niloticus, or the Trochus Shell, is a large sea snail found in the Indo-Pacific region. It has a high-domed, conical shell that is pearly on the inside due to the presence of nacre. The outside of the shell is often covered with various marine organisms, including coralline algae, sponges, and hydroids. This species is harvested for its shell, which is used in the button industry.
