Temera [Temera]

Description

Temera is a genus in the family Narkidae, consisting of small to medium-sized electric rays that inhabit tropical and subtropical waters. These rays are distinguished by their relatively short, thick tails, and the presence of two large kidney-shaped electric organs located on either side of the head. Temera rays are benthic animals, spending a significant amount of time buried under the seabed, ambushing prey that comes within their reach.
