Banana Squid [Kondakovia]

Description
The genus Kondakovia, known as Banana Squids, comprises a small group of large, deep-sea squids. These squids are notable for their elongated, banana-shaped bodies, which are capable of achieving considerable size. Kondakovia species are equipped with large eyes, presumably to better detect light in the dark depths of their oceanic habitats. Their arms and tentacles bear sharp hooks for capturing prey. These squids are often found in deep, cold waters where they undertake extensive vertical migrations to feed.
