Description

Also known as the reverse jewel squid, this species is native to the Atlantic Ocean. The main distinguishing characteristic of this species is its bioluminescent organs, which emit a blue-green light. The reverse jewel squid has a small size, with the mantle length usually not exceeding 20 cm. Its diet primarily consists of small fish and other squid.
