Northern Bobtail Squid [Euprymna berryi]

Description
This species is found in the waters off Japan and has similar characteristics to its southern cousin. It has a light organ for camouflage and feeds primarily on shrimp. It displays a symbiotic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria and uses this unique feature to remain hidden from predators below.
