Southern Bobtail Squid [Euprymna tasmanica]

Description
Found in the Southern Ocean waters off southern Australia, this species is small and has a distinctive light organ that it uses as camouflage to match the moon or starlight, effectively becoming invisible from below. It feeds on small shrimp and displays a unique symbiotic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria, which inhabit a special light organ in the squid's mantle cavity.
