Description
Teuthowenia pellucida, commonly known as the telescope octopus, is a species of pelagic squid. It is usually found in tropical and subtropical waters, primarily in the Southern Hemisphere. The telescope octopus is characterized by a slender, elongated body and large eyes, which it uses to spot prey in the dim light of the deep sea. The squid also has the ability to make its body almost completely transparent to avoid predators.
